The inaugural moon festival lit up royal greenwich in july 2019 with an 8-night programme of moon-themed events in public squares and museums, libraries and universities, jacobean manor houses and secret gardens. Underpinned by social research and community engagement projects, our programme offered our 3,500 visitors a kaleidoscopic range of events including a keynote speech by margaret atwood, a midnight run with inua ellams, a comedy set by helen lederer, a late night cabaret hosted by london night czar amy lamé, a street party inspired by stories about the moon, to name a few
